Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

Last updated: 02/09/2026

We want you to be completely happy with your Mia purchase. If for any reason you're not, we'll do our best to make it right.

Below is everything you need to know about changing your mind, returns, refunds, and what to do if something arrives damaged or faulty. None of it affects your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law.

Changed your mind?

Because you bought online, you have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason. No explanation needed. We go a step further and give you a full 30 days from delivery to change your mind.

  • Within the first 14 days (your statutory cooling-off period), you're welcome to open the box and inspect the bed as you would in a shop. If it's been handled or used beyond what's needed to check it over, we may reduce your refund to reflect any drop in its value.
  • From day 15 to day 30, as a goodwill extension, we ask that the bed is unused and in resalable condition, with all original components and packaging included, so it can go on to its next home.

To cancel, email us at hello@growmia.ie with your order number, in writing, within the window above. We'll reply within 2 business days with return instructions. Once you've told us, you'll then have a separate 14 days to actually send the item back to us — this is a different 14-day clock from the cooling-off period itself, so if you cancel near the end of your 30-day window, your return deadline will fall after day 30.

Returning the item

For a change-of-mind return, return shipping is at your own cost. We recommend a tracked service, as we can't be responsible for items lost or damaged on the way back to us.

Refunds

Once we've received and checked the returned bed, we'll email you to confirm. We'll refund your original payment method within 14 days of being notified of your cancellation. We may hold off until the bed is back with us, or until you've sent proof of postage. Delivery is free on every Mia order, so there's no delivery charge to recover either way.

Arrived damaged?

If your Mia arrives damaged, email us at hello@growmia.ie with a photo as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days of delivery, so we can sort it quickly and raise it with the courier.

Because Mia raised beds are modular, we can usually put things right by sending a single replacement profile or part, rather than having you return the whole bed — faster for you, and you keep growing. Where a full replacement or refund is the better fix, we'll arrange that instead. Either way, it's at no cost to you, and we cover the return shipping.

Faulty or not as described

If your raised bed develops a manufacturing fault or isn't as described, you're covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which sit separately from the change-of-mind window above:

  • Within the first 30 days of delivery, if the bed doesn't conform to the contract, you're generally entitled to reject it for a full refund, repair, or replacement.
  • After 30 days, we'll repair or replace it at no cost to you. If that isn't possible, or doesn't resolve the issue within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, you're entitled to a price reduction or a refund, depending on the seriousness of the fault.
  • These rights can apply for up to 6 years from purchase.

The exact remedy available to you at each stage is set out in the Consumer Rights Act 2022. For independent confirmation of how these rights apply to your situation, see ccpc.ie or contact Citizens Information.

As with transit damage, because the bed is modular we can often resolve a fault by sending a replacement part. We cover the cost of returning anything faulty.

This doesn't cover damage caused by misuse, accident, or normal wear after delivery.

What we can't accept

  • Change-of-mind returns received outside the 30-day window.
  • For change-of-mind returns, beds showing signs of use, weathering, or damage caused after delivery. (This does not limit your rights if the item is genuinely faulty.)
  • Custom or bespoke orders, unless faulty — made-to-order items are excluded from the cooling-off right under consumer law.
